Asthma Academy

This app is at the center of a study on asthma training and response by parents of asthmatic children.

Low-income families generally suffer the highest rates of hospital admission. Recent studies identified the need for parents in these families  to learn how they can and should manage their children's medications.

Asthma Academy provides a solution to this. It is a helpful augmented reality simulation application, offered via Magic Leap headsets, that teaches parents how to best handle their child’s asthma, particularly in emergency situations. The simulation involves quizzing the user on when and how they can give their child their Albuterol inhaler rescue medication. As a result, parents will be better equipped for asthma emergencies.
