Patient Incivility Trainer

The overall aim of the project is to increase awareness of incivility in healthcare, the related patient safety hazards and to promote the use of cognitive rehearsal strategies among pre licensure BSN students.

  • Incivility behaviors are associated with unsafe clinical practice environments, increased errors, health care provider stress, negative health related disorders, organization turnover and increased employer cost.
  • The app will take students through multiple scenarios that feature doctors, nurses, and patient avatars in various situations featuring incivility.
